Community Action Recovery Effort (CARE) is the Recovery Oriented System of Care for Dearborn County. It is a collaborative group of diverse stakeholders coming together to support community wellness and ensure a recovery-ready community. Our Mission: Dearborn County is an educated and unified community where individuals and families can safely and easily access reliable services and lasting support towards hope, recovery and meaning in life.

Creating a Better World for LGBTQ Students

As GLSEN was founded by a group of teachers in 1990, we knew that educators play key roles in creating affirming learning environments for LGBTQ youth. But as well as activating supportive educators, we believe in centering and uplifting student-led movements, which have powered initiatives like the Day of Silence, Ally Week, and more.

Indiana Department of Child Services
The Indiana Department of Child Services leads the state's response to allegations of child abuse and neglect and facilitates child support payments. We consider the needs and values of all we serve in our efforts to protect children while keeping families together whenever possible.

The Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University (SIU) is a community-based patient care, research, education and outreach program established to improve cancer care. It is an effort made possible by the partners at Simmons Hanly Conroy and the Simmons Family Foundation who made a $10.2 million multi-year pledge to help fund the development.

Sokolove Law -- Specialized Care For Veterans
Veterans of the U.S. military may need specialized care to deal with common health issues as they age. To help these brave men and women, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has established dozens of programs and services exclusively for veterans.
Outside of the VA, many health care organizations focus on the well-being of veterans. While not affiliated with the government, these organizations provide healing and support to those who served in the military.
Mesothelioma Treatment
Malignant mesothelioma treatment is individualized for each patient. The treatment plan may be focused on extending life through treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy. Although the cancer is currently considered incurable, this multimodality treatment can significantly extend life for some patients. Some patients are treated with palliative care, which focuses on quality of life rather than length of life.
